The purpose of this research study is to find out more about life after cancer, specifically to understand cancer’s impact on anxiety in young cancer survivors. Adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivors experience significantly greater anxiety compared to non-cancer peers and older survivors. However, our nuanced understanding of their anxiety is limited by use of brief self-report assessment methods and the conflation of anxiety with concepts such as cancer-related worry and fears of cancer recurrence. This study has the potential to inform clinical practice and future intervention research as well as improve the lives of a population that experiences significant disparities in research funding and mental health outcomes.
